An operator faced significant challenges while drilling a 12.25-inch hole section. The project was hindered by frequent tool failures due to severe downhole vibrations, which led to numerous operational delays. Additionally, tight spots within the hole caused inadequate hole cleaning, necessitating additional wiper trips. These complications resulted in the need for multiple runs to complete the section, threatening to extend the project timeline and inflate costs.

To address these issues, the operator implemented Corva along with Baker Hughes’s i-Trak™ technology. This strategic approach dramatically improved the efficiency of the drilling process by optimizing operational parameters and employing real-time monitoring to significantly reduce tool failures and improve hole cleaning effectiveness.
